  My wife and I had a wonderful breakfast at Plowmans. I had the Eggs Benedict (home made biscuits instead of English Muffins, great southern twist) and she had the traditional Bacon and Eggs.  The food was fabulous and the service was very considerate; there when needed but minimal enough to not interrupt conversations. Coffee was great so I drank too much of it  Everything was very fresh and you could tell that they are very attentive to the quality of the food. Owners were there and even checked on us to see how we enjoyed everything.
  
  We were driving through Taylor on the way home from Round Rock and it was a perfect stop on the way. I am so glad that we decided to try this out instead of doing the typical "first thing we see" stop. Highly recommended.

  This charming cafe is an absolute gem. Located inside the old HS band building in charming old town Taylor this is THE place to stop!
  
  They have done a terrific job renovating the building while keeping it funky, cool, and trendy.
  
  The food was surprisingly good for such a small town. Fun contemporary takes on classics like fried green tomatoes had us raising eyebrows and fighting over portions. The Ham and Jam sandwich was another big hit.
  
  If you're driving through, near, or around Taylor stop here. You won't regret it.

  Tried to eat here twice; successful once, but it wasn't worth the effort.
  
  Our food - fried chicken and hamburger with fries - was served basically cold. My wife was served her hamburger and barely warm fries on a plate with a pile of cold mashed potatoes. No explanation from waitress, who giggled when the presence of the mashed potatoes was questioned. Not funny to us.
  
  My chicken was over battered and too salty. Gravy was disappointingly thin. My mashed potatoes were warm at the first bite,but cooled rapidly. Probably because the ambient temp in the restaurant was uncomfortably chilly to both of us.
  
  The service was also subpar, even for Taylor. There were just three tables with customers, so we couldn't figure out why our waitress was so inattentive and the food so slow in arriving.  The worst experience came as we left and attempted to secure info on the bakery goods in the case near the door. No prices were posted, and we were quoted different prices by two disinterested employees whom we had to ask to help us. They each did so grudgingly.
  
  So, no. We won't be going back.

  This restaurant was located quite close to the B&B we were staying at and decided to go there as it sounded like the best place in town. The service was good the waiter was very attentive and made sure we had water when we needed it. I had the salmon and it was a little dry but otherwise OK my husband had shrimp fettuccine and back in California it's a little bit better. We were looking forward to the apple pie with ice cream and they were all out and that was a disappointment because it wasn't that late. I understand it's a local place and things maybe just a little different.

  I really want to love this place since there are not many sit down places in Taylor and we loved how they redid the elementary school to make this place. The service was fine for us, very friendly and accommodating since we had our toddler and baby with us. The food overall was good, the fried green tomatoes was our favorite. The shrimp tacos were a little fishy tasting. The hot turkey sandwich was also good. The kids meal though was a big no no - they didn't cook the tenders all the way through and we didn't notice right away. I think I probably ate some of the undercooked chicken since I was giving my daughter the end pieces but that's not cool. They really need to get a better handle on their food handling and safety and management of the place in general it sounds like because it can really be an amazing place. The desserts looked fairly good but not sure how long they were sitting in the case. I love that they offer high tea and hope to come back to enjoy that but we will probably not be coming back for a little while.
